The Serpentine Gallery was founded in 1970 by the Arts Council of Great Britain. Set in a 1934 tea pavilion in the heart of the exquisite Kensington Gardens, The Serpentine Gallery has a distinguished reputation for presenting some of the worlds finest modern and contemporary art exhibits. In 1988 a £4 million project of renovation work was completed, providing the Gallery with maximum flexibility for displaying the works of art along with the benefit of maintaining the historic and graceful character expected of a Grade II listed building.
